Amazon Price & Fees Calculator

Amazon takes its fees before you ever see the money, and by the time GST is applied on top of your product cost, packaging, MRP, and Amazon’s own charges, the number in your head rarely matches what actually settles. Most sellers price a product against MRP alone and only discover the real margin once fees are deducted.

This calculator works out your net settlement and net profit the same way Amazon’s own numbers are structured – separating MRP, product cost, packaging, and Amazon’s fees, then applying GST correctly on each one before arriving at your final profit.

Who this is for:

  • Sellers deciding on an MRP for a new listing and needing to know the real margin before publishing it
  • Sellers checking whether a product is still profitable after Amazon revises its fee structure
  • Anyone reviewing an Amazon settlement and wanting to sanity-check the numbers

How to use it:

  1. Enter your raw product price and packaging cost
  2. Enter your MRP (selling price)
  3. Enter Amazon’s fees and shipping fees for the order
  4. Read your total tax payable, net settlement, and net profit instantly

Formula basis — Net settlement = MRP − Amazon fees − Shipping fees; Final tax payable = MRP tax − Raw cost tax − (Amazon + shipping tax); Net profit = Net settlement − Tax payable − (Total cost + raw tax). GST assumed at 18%. For estimation only; always confirm against your actual Amazon settlement report.

How Amazon’s fees and GST actually work together

Your MRP is GST-inclusive, but so is your product cost, your packaging, and the fees Amazon charges you. Each of these needs to be reduced to its GST-exclusive value separately, because they aren’t all taxed as a single combined amount – Amazon’s fees attract GST on their own, independent of the GST embedded in your product cost.

Once that’s done, your final tax payable is the GST portion of your MRP, minus the GST already accounted for in your product cost and Amazon’s fees. What’s left over – your net settlement, minus tax payable, minus your real product cost – is your actual net profit per unit.

Understanding the numbers this tool gives you:

  • Total cost: your raw product price plus packaging, added together before tax
  • MRP tax: the GST portion of your selling price
  • Raw cost tax / Amazon + shipping tax: the GST already embedded in your cost and Amazon’s charges
  • Final tax payable: what you actually owe after adjusting for the GST already paid on your costs
  • Net settlement: MRP minus Amazon’s fees and shipping
  • Net profit: what’s genuinely left over once tax payable and your real cost are both accounted for

Frequently asked questions

Does this cover FBA storage fees or advertising spend?

No. This calculator estimates per-unit profit based on product cost, MRP, and Amazon’s transaction fees. Storage fees, long-term storage charges, and advertising (PPC) spend should be tracked separately, since they aren’t tied to a single order.

Is GST always 18% on Amazon?

This calculator assumes 18%, which applies to most categories, but some products fall under 5%, 12%, or 28% slabs. Check your product’s applicable GST rate before relying on the result for pricing decisions.

Why does my net profit look lower than I expected?

Sellers often calculate profit as MRP minus cost minus fees, without separating the GST embedded in each figure. This calculator does that separation for you, which is why the result is usually more conservative – and more accurate.

Does this match my actual Amazon settlement report?

It’s a close per-unit estimate. Your real Seller Central settlement may include additional adjustments like returns, reimbursements, and promotional fee waivers that this calculator doesn’t account for.
